The ZenSerenity® 3″ Tibetan Singing Bowl is both a traditional singing bowl and what we call a singing bowl chime: a compact sound tool designed for meditation, classrooms, workplaces, yoga, retreats, sound healing, and everyday moments when you want to bring the room back to center.
Its compact size makes it easy to keep nearby, while its substantial construction creates a gentle but surprisingly room-filling resonance. Tap it and enjoy the chime, or practice working the wooden mallet around the rim to bring out its singing tone.
Smaller singing bowls can require more practice than larger bowls to produce a continuous singing tone. ZenSerenity® was intentionally designed with a substantial, weighted feel so you can practice making it sing while still getting a beautiful experience when you simply tap the bowl.
When tapped correctly, the bowl opens into a soft, clear resonance that can continue for roughly 30 to 40 seconds, depending on your strike, the surface beneath the bowl, and the room around you.
That makes it especially useful when you want a peaceful auditory cue without needing a large instrument: beginning a meeting, closing a restorative circle, starting meditation, transitioning a classroom, or simply taking one intentional moment at your desk.
Tap the rim, let the mallet gently rebound, and allow the resonance to finish naturally.
The bowl is intentionally small, so a little technique makes a noticeable difference. Start gently, keep the bowl free to vibrate, and let the sound build naturally.
This is the easiest way to enjoy ZenSerenity® and one of the reasons the bowl works so well for groups.
Small bowls require more practice, but the technique becomes easier once you learn how much pressure and motion the bowl wants.
The less your hand restricts the bowl, the more freely the metal can vibrate.
Try three gentle taps in sequence. Each strike adds a little more energy to the bowl and can create a fuller, layered resonance.
ZenSerenity® arrives as a coordinated gift set, so the bowl can be stored, carried, gifted, and played with the pieces designed to support its small size.
On a bowl this small, wood provides the direct contact needed to help bring out the singing tone. A soft felt tip can absorb too much of the energy needed to keep a small bowl singing.
ZenSerenity® was designed to move naturally between personal mindfulness and group facilitation.
A soft auditory signal can help begin a breathing exercise, transition between activities, invite a moment of quiet, or bring attention back to the group without raising your voice.
Keep it on your desk for a personal reset, or use its chime to open and close meetings, reflection activities, restorative conversations, and facilitated group experiences.
Add a bright, gentle layer to meditation, yoga, retreats, mindfulness exercises, ceremonies, and sound-bath arrangements without adding another large instrument to your setup.
A singing bowl is more than one musical note. Its character comes from the way the fundamental tone, overtones, vibration, and sustain interact as the sound opens and gradually fades.
The dominant A tone gives ZenSerenity® its central sonic identity: clear, focused, and gently present. Within chakra traditions, A is associated with the Third Eye and themes of intuition, insight, inner wisdom, and reflective awareness.
The D overtone adds another layer to the bowl's resonance. Within chakra traditions, it is associated with creativity, emotion, movement, expression, and flow.
The B overtone contributes a higher, more spacious element. Within chakra traditions, it is associated with awareness, stillness, contemplation, and connection.
Immediately after the bowl is tapped, the sound is brighter and more defined. As it continues to vibrate, the overtones become easier to notice and the sound settles into a softer, humming resonance before gradually disappearing into silence.
ZenSerenity® was made to be portable. Its 3″ size allows it to fit naturally into a purse, backpack, retreat bag, classroom supply kit, facilitator bag, or sound-healing collection.
Move it from your desk to meditation, from work to home, or from one group experience to the next without needing to carry a full-size singing bowl.
A few simple details make this small singing bowl much easier to understand and enjoy.
Yes. Using it as a chime is simple: gently tap the bowl and allow the sound to ring. Making a 3″ bowl continuously sing can take more practice than playing a larger bowl, so give yourself time to learn the pressure and movement that work best.
A wooden mallet provides the direct contact a small bowl needs to build and maintain its singing vibration. A soft felt tip can absorb too much energy when working with a bowl this small.
You can use either. If you hold it, keep your palm open and flat so your hand does not restrict the vibration. For the easiest and most consistent singing response, place the bowl on its included cushion.
Gently touch or pinch the rim to stop the vibration. Once the bowl is quiet, tap it again and restart your movement around the rim.
A well-placed tap can create a long, gentle resonance that may remain audible for roughly 30 to 40 seconds. The exact duration will naturally vary based on how the bowl is struck, the room, and the surface supporting the bowl.
The set includes the 3″ ZenSerenity® singing bowl, wooden playing mallet, silk cushion, and its ZenSerenity® gift box.
Its compact size works especially well for personal meditation, classroom mindfulness, workplace resets, meetings, restorative circles, yoga, retreats, facilitator activities, sound baths, ceremonies, and travel.
From personal meditation and workplace resets to classrooms, retreats, yoga, and group facilitation, discover how customers are making this little bowl part of their own mindfulness routines.
One small bowl can become the sound that begins meditation, gathers a classroom, centers a meeting, opens a restorative circle, starts a yoga practice, or simply reminds you to pause.
